Overview

Magical Learning Pty Ltd is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). As a RTO we provide nationally-recognised qualifications from Certificate III through to Advanced Diploma levels. We specialise in developing and delivering learning programs for government at Federal and State/Territory levels.

We are passionate about partnering with our clients to provide them with up-to-date qualifications. We achieve this through:

We have been developing course materials for ourselves and other organisations (including CIT Solutions and CPA Australia) for the past 11 years. We develop all of our own materials, which enables us to easily tailor our materials to meet your specific needs.

When you enrol in any of our accredited programs you will receive materials that relate to your jurisdiction. For example, if you work in the Australian Government, your program workshops and course materials refer to relevant Australian Government examples, legislation, guidelines and better practice guides.

We use the same approach for students from State and Territory governments – workshops and course materials are tailored to your specific jurisdiction.

In addition to our public programs, we can develop a customised qualification for your organisation – so the qualification is tailored to your organisation using relevant resources - and deliver that program in-house.

How Do Accredited Programs Work?

Our nationally-accredited qualifications are structured to include a combination of Required (mandatory) and Specialist (elective) units.

For example, a student undertaking a Diploma of Government (Management) must complete eleven units, comprising seven Required Units and four Elective units.

Diploma of Government (Management)

PSPETHC501B Promote the Values and Ethos of Public Service

PSPGOV519A Manage Performance /td>
Elective Units (choose 4 electives from the units listed below)
PSPGOV503B Coordinate Resource Allocation and Usage /td>
PSPGOV504B Undertake Research and Analysis /td>
PSPGOV506A Support Workplace Coaching and Mentoring /td>
PSPGOV507A Undertake Negotiations /td>
PSPGOV508A Manage Conflict /td>

PSPGOV513A Refine Complex Workplace Documents /td>
PSPGOV514A Facilitate Change /td>
PSPGOV515A Develop and Use Political Nous /td>
PSPGOV516A Develop and Use Emotional Intelligence /td>
PSPGOV517A Coordinate Risk Management /td>
BSBFLM501B Manage Personal Work Priorities and Professional Development /td>
BSBFLM503B Manage Effective Workplace Relationships/td>

Once you have completed a qualification, you can undertake any other qualification at that level and typically only need to complete the Specialist Units. For example, if you complete the Diploma of Government (Management) as above and then decide to undertake the Diploma of Government (Contract Management), you will only need to complete the specialist units for that second Diploma.

This means that obtaining more than one qualification is easier, faster and cheaper.

You can also undertake individual units (rather than a whole qualification). If you do this you will obtain a Statement of Attainment for each unit after you complete the required assessment items. That Statement can be used to obtain ‘credit’ for that unit if you later decided to study the full qualification – so you don’t normally need to complete that unit again.

Study Grants

Another way that we encourage our students to become lifelong learners is to provide study grants for students who return to us to do further qualifications.

Once you have completed a qualification through Magical Learning, we offer a study grant that can be used to reduce your fees for any subsequent accredited program you undertake with us.

For government agencies sponsoring their staff through an accredited program, study grants can be assigned to the participant on completion, or placed in a pool to be used by the agency for any staff member undertaking an accredited program with us in the future.

This is just one of the ways we are working with agencies to find more cost-effective learning and development opportunities for their staff.

To find out more about our study grants, email us at learn@magicallearning.com or call us on 02 6260 8220.

User Choice Funding

We are registered provider of User Choice funding in the ACT. User choice is a funding framework that allows employers - together with the apprentices and trainees they employ - to select an RTO to provide quality accredited training that meets their specific needs.

Total accredited program costs are subsidised by Government, reducing the cost to both the employer and the student.

User Choice works in conjunction with the Apprenticeship and Traineeship System, whereby apprentices and trainees enter into legally binding Training Contracts with their employers. The apprentice/trainee and employer negotiate with a RTO of their choice to deliver structured training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

To find out more about user choice funding options, email us at learn@magicallearning.com or call us on 02 6260 8220.

Payment Plans

If you are interested in undertaking an accredited program but have to fund it yourself (eg. your employer agrees to reimburse you on completion), we offer a range of flexible payment plans to suit most circumstances.

To find out more about our payment plans, email us at learn@magicallearning.com or call us on 02 6260 8220.

Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL)/ Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)

We understand that your time is valuable and that you may have work, previous study and life experiences that cover part of what you would learn in an accredited program. Rather than having to re-learn what you already know, you can apply for recognition for those existing skills/ qualifications.

Students can apply for Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL)/ Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) before commencing any of our courses. These services recognise the skills and knowledge that you have gained through work, previous study and life experiences that may be relevant to the qualification you wish to undertake.

If your application for recognition is successful it could reduce the study time required for completion.

To find out more about RPL/RCC options, email us at learn@magicallearning.com or call us on 02 6260 8220.
