Welcome back,
We have been focusing on Better Relationships at Work and the importance of investing in these. Research shows that when we make friends at work we are happier, more effective and productive and we feel more fulfilled.
It has also come to our attention over the past few months that workplaces are returning to face-to-face training and team building. There is nothing quite like catching up in person and fostering connection. It’s important to remember that good relationships help us deal with stressful situations and change and give us access to better ideas and solutions.
If you’d like to build better work relationships here are two things that you can do; Include investing 5-10 minutes talking to someone at work about something other than work (their weekend, recent holiday or hobby) and find one thing to encourage another person in. For example, if you notice that they are speaking up more in meetings, encourage them to continue. It’s the little positive deposits over time that make all the difference.
Our video book review is on Shawn Achor’s new book, The Power of Beliefs. It is a great read and has some terrific strategies to help you focus more on a better life and success.
Until next time, stay magical.
