The Magical Learning
Community Newsletter
We hope your year has started off well.
As we move into a year where chaos seems to be the new normal, we have been looking at ways to support and serve you better. We started last month by sharing ways to re-skill, as we are all going to need to keep learning and growing to remain healthy and sustainable in this new normal.
This month we are focusing on Growth Mindset. This mindset was made famous in the TED talk by Carol Dweck. Growth mindset is the concept where you need to learn and grow and accept that growth will probably involve making mistakes and failing as part of the process. Mistakes and failure trigger the threat response in our brain and yet we need to experience both and learn from them in order to grow and learn.
You will often find that certain areas of your life it is easier to bring a growth mindset and in other areas of your life you may display a fixed mindset where you are not so open to changing what you already think and know. To change you first need to be aware of what is no longer serving you before you can even start the process of wanting to change.
What we love about a growth mindset is that choosing to apply it allows you to take control of your life. To choose to disrupt yourself rather than someone else doing it to you. This month we are sharing resources across our social media channels to support you to develop a growth mindset.
We also review Where the Light Gets In by Ben Crowe. This book helps you to reframe unhelpful beliefs and is definitely a great support on developing growth mindset skills.
We look forward to sharing more ideas and resources with you next month.
Until next month, stay magical.

Book Review: Where the Light Gets In by Ben Crowe.
SYNOPSIS
Ben Crowe is one of the world's most in-demand mindset coaches. In this book, he reveals nine simple-yet-profound perspective shifts that will change the way you see the world and yourself.
Showing how these nine perspective shifts are relevant to every human being, Ben demonstrates how self-compassion, imagination and appreciation can turn adversity into possibility, remove pressure and help us find that elusive balance between confidence and happiness, achievement and fulfilment.
Move from fearful to playful, from human doing to human being, and from fitting in to truly belonging. Even small perspective shifts can lead to massive breakthroughs, creating the freedom to redefine what it means to live a life true to yourself. Because that's where the light gets in.
