The Magical Learning
Community Newsletter
Welcome back,
We hope you are keeping warm.
This month we are focusing on Inclusive Leadership. It involves having a leadership mindset, which means using skills and behaviours where everyone feels included and valued. This is known to create higher performance amongst the team, more job satisfaction, and also furthers creativity and innovation.
When stressed the brain doesn’t always remain inclusive. For example, under pressure the brain run biases, which are shortcuts to decision-making. One type of bias is that people prefer things that are similar to them or familiar to them. This can result in not all views being sought and often leads to gaps in information when decisions are made.
Great leaders understand that being inclusive really does make a positive difference. This month we will be sharing a number of resources on Inclusive Leadership. We hope you find them helpful.
As you scroll down, you might notice this is a shorter newsletter since we don’t have a book review for this month. Danette is busy travelling as she is coaching and is facilitating some exciting classes and training, time for reading and recording has been a bit hard to come by. However, you can see what she is currently reading here, in case you’d like to read along.
Until next month, stay magical.

Podcast: How to Lead Through the Care-Economic Revolution with Bernie Kelly & Veronica Haslam
What are "Purpose Leaders", and why are they more important now than ever? And what do they have to do with the Care-Economic Revolution?
In this episode the team is joined by friend of the podcast Bernie Kelly, and his new co-author of the amazing book Kindling Purpose Leaders: How to Lead Through the Care-Economic Revolution, Veronica (Vee) Haslem. We chat about the concept of the care economic revolution, exploring how leaders can navigate the complexities of modern organisational challenges; the importance of nurturing purpose-driven leaders; the need for a shift from managerial to purpose-led transformations, and the role of meaning in leadership. They also emphasise the significance of holding space for conundrums and fostering a culture of care and intentionality in leadership practices.
