We hope you are keeping warm as we move into winter.

Did you know that 95% of people believe they are self-aware? Research by Tasha Eurich shows that the actual figure is only 10-15% of people. That is a huge gap.

A useful resource to grow your self-awareness, is Michael A. Singer’s new book, Living Untethered: Beyond the Human Predicament. His book has some great strategies on improving your self-awareness and learning to be happier and create a life with deeper meaning. We have included our video book review of this below.

Self-awareness is just one of the elements of Emotional Intelligence (EQ). EQ skills are important if you work with or lead others. It is also important for your own self-development.

According to Harvard Business Review, EQ is twice as important as IQ and technical skills. At the most senior levels EQ accounts for 90% of the difference between great leaders and the rest.

The great news is that EQ skills can be learned. If you are interested in growing your EQ skills we have our ‘Developing Your Emotional Intelligence’ course coming up in August.

We will also be sharing resources throughout this month to help you to develop your EQ skills on our social media channels.

Until next time, stay magical

With the rise of AI and changing work environments, many businesses have to pivot. But what does that look like and how can you do it so that your business grows.

In this episode, the team discusses the topic of pivoting in business. They share personal examples of pivots they have made in their careers and discuss the importance of adapting to change. The conversation explores examples of businesses that have successfully pivoted and discusses strategies for businesses to think about pivoting better.

Examples include Magical Learning, a business that pivoted during COVID by offering online learning, and Les Bistronomes a restaurant that started offering cook-at-home meals. Other examples include Nintendo, which pivoted from playing cards to toys and then to gaming consoles, and Yamaha, a company that has successfully pivoted across various industries.
