Happy Spring everyone,
This month we are focusing on Improving Communication. When there is a lot of change happening this is an area where you can have real impact.
It can be tempting to think that good communication is all about talking and sharing a message. During times of change, active listening improves communication in so many ways. By listening to others, you find out what is important for them during change, what their concerns are and ideas they have about things to improve and also stop doing.
This month we are sharing a number of helpful resources on our social media channels to help you improve your communication skills.
Our video book review is on Gustavo Razzetti’s book, Forward Talk, covering ways to help teams improve how they communicate and perform.
Until next month, have a magical time.

Podcast: How to Have Hard Conversations Without the Blow-Up with Leah Mether
How do you go with having hard conversations? What makes some people so good at them? In this chat, we not only break down why hard conversation can actually be great for relationships, but also why so many people struggle with hard chats. If you wanted a guide to why emotional intelligence is so important in the age of AI, this is it.
Leah is a communication specialist and author, discusses the importance of soft skills in leadership and work life. She provides practical tips on how to disagree with respect without attacking others and emphasises the need for emotional regulation and curiosity. Leah also highlights the significance of setting clear expectations as a leader and holding people accountable. She encourages leaders to be self-aware and open-minded, and employees to be receptive to feedback. Finally, Leah emphasises the importance of knowing what kind of leader you want to be and aligning your behaviour with that vision. You can learn more about her here.
